I dont think its a compatibility issue but rather a communications settings problem. the one that i used to use worked perfectly with no modifications whatsoever. The laptop I was previously using is also a win 10 laptop from 2018. A PC Adapter USB A2 (aka CP 5711) installed with Step 7 v5.6 (the only version of Step 7 enabled for Windows 10) will work on Windows 10. V4.0.9.25 is officially not supported on Windows 10 but can work after some trial an error. Recommend upgrade to the latest version V4.0.9.25 or use a virtual machine (VM) with Windows 2000 on it. You can try different compatibility modes and/or play with the driver if needed. Which version of STEP 7 Micro/WIN or S7-200 PC Access is compatible with which version of MS Windows?īy upgrading the adapter to latest driver driver V3.1 might not recognize the adapter and/or old driver can not work with windows 10, hence the incompatibility. Bear in mind V3.1 is tended to be used on Windows 2000 SP2 and lower and might be very incompatible to be working with windows 10.
